The role and difference between aquarium wave pump and submersible pump

Generally, wave pump and submersible pump are basically one kind of pump in principle. They are in the category of submersible pumps, but they have different effects in use and different methods of use.

Wave-making pumps are generally used in large-scale fish breeding, such as Gold Arowana and Koi. These fish are prone to short, thick and obese in a calm and aquarium environment, which is not conducive to maintaining a beautiful body shape. The wave pump can make artificial water flow, wave, let the fish grow in a similar river or ocean environment, the fish will flow backwards in the water flow environment, and the swimming stroke will be increased. At the same time, the dissolved oxygen in the water is greatly increased, and the microbes in the water are fully exchanged, which is beneficial to the growth and development of the fish.

It is worth noting that it is necessary to choose the pump flow reasonably. It is not suitable for too big or too small. In addition, the water inlet should be protected. Otherwise, the fish will be easily sucked, causing serious injury, and the sucked fish will block the water inlet. After that, the pump is drying run, and it is easy to burn the motor and cause leakage.

The submersible pump is generally installed in the aquarium as a water flow exchange device of the filtering device. The function of the submersible pump is to raise the aquarium water to the filter tank, and then pass through various areas of the grid, and then return to the aquarium to perform circulation.

When the submersible pump is used as a filter, the flow rate should be selected from 3 to 5 times the total volume of the fish tank. For example, an aquarium with a capacity of 100 liters of water, a submersible pump with a flow rate of 300 liters/hour is better. Similarly, the suction port is also required. For protection, set a large mesh isolation port to prevent sucking fish.
